Linda Gail Turner was born January 24, 1949 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Sherman and Alma (McKinnis) Fowler. She passed away on July 24, 2020 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years and 6 months.
Linda grew up in Roosevelt, Oklahoma and graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended South Western in Weatherford Oklahoma where she earned her Bachelors degree. She married Carl Turner on July 3, 1965 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma and they made their home there for several years before moving to Elk City where Linda taught special education for over 30 years in the Merritt Public School system. Linda enjoyed reading in her spare time and loved to go on trips and spend time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 1 brother, Richard Fowler.
She is survived by her daughter, Christal Pinkston and husband, Tom, Hammon, OK, 1 son, Mark Turner and wife, Ladonna, Roosevelt, OK, her sister, Sandy Largo and husband, Richard, Boca Raton, FL, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Roosevelt Cemetery in Roosevelt, OK. Visitation will be held at Whinery Funeral Service, Elk City on Monday, July 27, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Services are under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service, Elk City.
