Obituary

Mr. Johnny (John) Fred Rogers, longtime resident of Beckham County, entered into his heavenly home Saturday morning, March 19, 2022, surrounded by family, in Sayre, OK, after a valiant battle with cancer.    John was born March 31, 1950, to his parents, Theresa (Mercer) and John Rogers in Sayre, OK.

John married Denise Rollens, the love of his life, Earth Day, April 22, 2006.  They will soon be married 16 years.  John had a lifelong career in the oil field industry. He lived in various states working in the industry.  Everyone that knew John knew he was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to The University of Oklahoma football.  He loved his OU Sooners.  John also enjoyed the outdoors; hunting and fishing were one of many of his favorite hobbies.  There was nothing like riding the open road when John got on his motorcycle.  Many good times were spent on his cycle. John was a proud member of the Downed Bikers Association. He was a member of the SW Oklahoma Recovery Community as well for 27 years.  John’s experience blessed many and will be sorely missed.

John was met in heaven by his parents: Theresa and John Rogers, sister: Liz (2019), and brother: James (1996).

John’s memory will be kept alive through the family and friends he leaves behind which include his wife of 16 years: Denise Rollens Rogers of the home, 2 nieces:  Tara Peyton of Edmond, OK, Katie Stewart of Oklahoma City, OK; bonus children:  Danyal Walters of Clinton, OK, and David Dean Stotler of Sayre, OK; as well as a host of longtime friends, neighbors, and other family members.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Sayre First United Methodist Church with Pastor Andy Taylor officiating. 

Services are under the direction of Rose Chapel, Sayre.
