Hazel Maxine Williams, 94, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2022, in Georgetown, Texas. Maxine was born the youngest of five children on October 4, 1927, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Thomas and Dovie Ward. She graduated from high school in Sweetwater, Oklahoma, and started working for Public Service in Erick, Oklahoma, shortly thereafter, where she met her future husband, Ray Williams. They were married on December 24, 1947, and eventually moved to Sayre, Oklahoma, where Maxine also worked for Public Service, as well as First National Bank and Unique Boutique. She lived in Sayre until 2018, when she moved to Georgetown to be closer to family.
Maxine was vivacious, outgoing, and loved to laugh and will be dearly missed by family and friends. She was an active member of the Sayre Church of Christ and in her spare time enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and travelling. She will be fondly remembered for her love of shoes and her amazing apple pies and was a trusted counselor and encourager to many clients through her work as a seamstress.
Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ray and sons Ronald and Jon Mark and is survived by daughter Cheryl (Larry) Coy, grandchildren Sean (Emma) Williams, Cathleen (Michael) Martin, Wendi Williams, Jennifer (James) Conway, Chanin (Pete) Kelly, Jillien (Ronald) Flores, Brett (Kenton) Quick, and Parker Williams, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was grateful for the many friends in her life, especially Lori Thompson.
