Donna Helen German

June 18, 1953 ~ December 6, 2021 (age 68)

Obituary

On Monday morning, Dec 6, 2021, in Fort Worth Texas, Donna German took the hand of her Lord Jesus, and entered into her everlasting home in Heaven. Donna Helen Geist was born on June 18, 1953, in Hoxie, Kansas. She was the third daughter born to Alfred and Doris (Lewis) Geist. She grew up on a farm in Hoxie and graduated from Hoxie High School in 1971. Donna graduated from Dodge City Community College in 1972, majoring in Nursing. She obtained her LPN license and began her career in Ulysses, KS as an ER Nurse. While attending college, she met the love of her life, Lester German. They were married on Oct. 14, 1972. They made their home in Dodge City, Kansas, and were blessed with three beautiful children, Lisa Nicole, Holly Christine, and Daniel Ray. Donna worked as clinical nurse in Cimmaron, KS. In 1989, the family moved to Elk City, Oklahoma. She enjoyed working in the home healthcare aspect of nursing and formed many friendships. Donna accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1976 and was later baptized. She and her husband Les were led by the Lord to start ‘Joshua’s Crossing Ministries,’ a Christian counseling service operating out of the “Promise Center”. This building is used by several organizations which actively serve the community. Through the years Donna met with countless people, and touched their lives with her deep faith, trust, wisdom, and honest feedback. Les and Donna counseled many married couples. The couples benefited from their raw emotions, honesty, and advice. Donna was an avid pro-life supporter, and was a constant advocate for the unborn, always taking the mother under her wing, and covering her in love and prayers. She helped establish a Pregnancy Care Center now known as “Heart to Heart Pregnancy Clinic”. Donna’s husband Les was her best friend, travel partner, counseling team, confidante, and her everything. They were a TEAM. They enjoyed jeeping and camping in the mountains; and trips with Les’ company. They attended Christian leadership conferences, Bible teachings, and prophetic seminars, always together in their worship and their praise for the Lord Jesus. Donna loved her family fiercely, and loved every moment spent with them. Her highlight in life were her six grandchildren. She was often found texting them and sharing words of wisdom. She enjoyed attending functions involving her grandkids, taking them on adventurous vacations and making memories. She enjoyed telling the story of Jesus’ birth every year at Christmas with her grandchildren. The story was always based on scripture and she delighted in writing it. Donna was known for her poetry; God had given her a season of some of the most beautiful inspirational poems. Donna was an amazing influence on so many women. She blessed them with her unconditional love, her Christian wisdom, and often told of past experiences and how God had delivered her out of the holds of the enemy. Donna never hesitated to tell someone how much God loved them and never hesitated to tell her story of deliverance. Donna is proceeded in death by her parents Al & Doris Geist, her sisters Pat Keller and Bonita Palmer. And her In-laws Don and Norma German. She is survived by her husband Les German, daughter Lisa and her husband J.R. Irwin, of Enid Ok, Holly and her husband Bullit Farris of Hinton, OK, Daniel German and his wife Mary of Ennis, Texas. Grandchildren, Gunner Irwin, Delaney Irwin, Lennon Farris, Jake Farris, Abbey German, and Luke German. Sisters, Barb Cooper (Steve), Jan (Tom) Juenemann.
